Ahoy, shipfreaks! As Valentine’s Day sails into our hearts, we’re thrilled to share the love story of Eko and Rayray.
Picture this: It’s 2017, the decks are bustling with excitement, and amidst the sea of shipmates, Eko and Rayray find themselves face to face. Little did they know, this chance encounter would set sail their journey towards love.
Eko and Rayray had been friends for a solid seven years, but it wasn’t until IT’S THE SHIP 2017 that their paths truly crossed. Perhaps it was the enchanting glow of the moonlight or the rhythmic beats of the music that brought them together, but whatever it was, sparks flew, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward to December 2023, and our lovebirds decided to take the plunge – quite literally – as they tied the knot. From shipmates to soulmates, Eko and Rayray’s love story is a testament to the magic that can happen when you least expect it.
Interview with Eko and Rayray:
ITS: How did you first meet on IT’S THE SHIP?
EKO: 2017 ITS lido hahaha. We were friends for like 7 years already by then but didn’t really talk.
Rayray: 2017 ITS, day 2, in the morning, running into each other in Lido and then having breakfast together and reconnecting after 6 years haha.
ITS: Do you have a favorite IT’S THE SHIP memory together?
EKO: Yeah I do! The duck pond in 2022 March 🙂 it was our first time as a couple and we had the best time vibing to Vini Vici.
Rayray: Mine would be Nov 2023 while Eko was touching up his ITS tattoo, I took the plunge and got my first tattoo.
ITS: Any advice for those looking for love?
EKO: Love is compromise and communication, don’t let your ego be the reason why you miscommunicate and have a fight.
Rayray: If you’re already in a relationship – Be patient, be willing to communicate, give space to your other half to communicate, don’t get complacent or overly comfortable just because you’ve been together for years, keep putting in effort. If you’re looking for someone – no one is perfect, learn to compromise, don’t change yourself for others but this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t keep working on improving yourself, constant improvement is not the same as changing yourself, it’s simply being a better version of yourself daily
ITS: How are you planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year?
EKO: Got us tickets for the Harry Potter Experience in Singapore, a nice dinner booking and then some
Rayray: hehe, apparently the moment the article came out about the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience in SG, Eko got on the pre-purchase waitlist. He has a day of Harry Potter related adventures planned for us because I’m a 110% potterhead ❤️
ITS: Do you have a favorite love song or playlist that represents your relationship?
EKO: For me it’s Amazed by Lonestar. The lyrics encapsulate everything I feel about Rayna.
Rayray: 只对你有感觉 – Fahrenheit ft Hebe
ITS: Lastly, any message you’d like to share with the IT’S THE SHIP community?
EKO: IT’S THE SHIP is about community and it’s a real family! We come together and do amazing things together! Thanks for having us and always being so supportive of everything we do 🙂
Rayray: IT’S THE SHIP is more than just a festival, the community is full of love and like a tight knit family. I’m glad that ITS was my first ever festival experience because it’s been so heartwarming and welcoming. Each and every one of you are amazing!
